About the picture: We (Bill Hammond and myself) are installing a solar panel in the high
Sierra west of Lake Tahoe. The panel powers a GPS station that measures
surface displacements. The station is part of a network in an area north of Lake Tahoe,
where recent magma intrusion in the Earth's crust have caused non-linear
surface displacements detected so far on Slide Mountain (east of Lake Tahoe). Photo by Jean
